I Met a Legend Today

I discovered Nikki Giovanni’s poetry in high school when I checked out a book on black poets from the Broward County Community College library. I’ve loved her poetry ever since. I was fortunate enough today to meet her when she was a guest in her office. She gave an amazing talk, and I even got a couple of books signed including one of her children’s books for my son. I consider this a good day.
